Short cuts allow you to perform move advanced searches without having to learn a weird programming language. These are extremely helpful when the information you are seeking seems to elude the general search (or you keep brining up one million plus pages). The online superstore giant now has a new search engine called A9. This search engine is powered by Google, Alexa and Amazon's own collection of data.
AltaVista now powered by Yahoo!

AltaVista is no longer serving up their own data. Yahoo! is now the search technology driving this site.

Google Gets the Message, Launches Gmail

Google is beta testing a new email service with huge storage abilities and the ability to search your own messages. Text ads will be present, but no annoying popups, etc. (At least for now.) It's obvious that Google wants to expand into a portal site like Yahoo! No, it's not their April fools joke.
