Yahoo! My Web BETA Introduced

Yahoo!'s My Web is all the Yahoo! personalized and local search tools rolled into one. The ongoing war between search engines brings us another log in tool that tracks your usage, preferences, etc., in order to deliver content that you are likely to want to see. The more you use it, the better it gets at guessing what you like. There do seem to be some great features here, but the paranoid privacy side of me raises red flags. I don't even like store discount cards because I don't like being profiled. Why should some stranger know what brand toilet paper I prefer? While some of these features may be cool, ask yourself if they are truly a great benefit to your searching needs. If not, file it under "cool, but not useful" and move on. Google - My Search History

Google has added a feature that allows you to save searches done while visiting their site. This makes it easy to call up past searches and provides the number of times you've used a specific search phrase. This could be useful for knowing that you've already searched on this phrase and you need to rephrase the search. Of course you must be logged in for this to work. If you already have some sort of account with Google, just log in. If not, there's a link to create one. Yahoo! and A9 already have similar features. For more info, visit Google - My Search History.
