For those who don't have enough lists in their busy day, here's another one. This claims to be a list of "possible" factors that Google uses when determining how to list your site. Not all items may be on the money and some are just plain shot in the dark guesses. Other items are obvious things. The rumor mill is rumbling that AskJeeves may be jumping into the PPC market soon. Since AskJeeves and all other sites owned by the same company stopped accepting new submissions, many have been wondering when they would make this more. A number of forums had postings wondering where the Overture handbooks went now that Yahoo! has rebranded and rearranged the site. They have been found here Yahoo! Search Marketing including a PDF workbook that can be downloaded. In the upper right notice links to the popular tools that can help you in deciding which keywords (phrases) to purchase and how much to bid.

Yahoo! : No Phone Left Behind!

Yahoo! has updated the feature that allows users to receive search results on their cell phones. Now most cell phones can take advantage of this feature. Check out Yahoo! Search blog: 92466: No Phone Left Behind!. Still not owning a cell phone myself, I still consider this nerds-ville, but people are using it. So that people can search for you, make certain your site has your business name, address, phone, etc., as plain text and that your listings in yellow pages web sites are accurate.

Yahoo! is now offering a new vertical search at Yahoo! HotJobs. The first big search engine player to enter this field, Yahoo! has teamed up with HotJobs. Searches show HotJobs listings first and then listings from company web site job postings and other sources. Can Google be far behind in a similar feature? Word has it that Google is working on their own classifieds system.
Google Personalized Search Adds Images

Google's Personalized search now includes the ability to include images. The personalized search feature seems to be taking off as each player keeps adding features in an attempt to out-do the other guy. We've commented before on the security issues with having a log in with searches stored. If that doesn't bother you, have at it by going to Google Personalized Search
