In the "It's About Time" category, the newest version of Netscape's Internet browser allows you to view your site as it appears in IE and other browsers. A great step towards making Internet developers everywhere happy campers. Check it out at
Netscape Browser Main. Runs on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98 SE, ME. Sorry, no Linux, Unix or Mac yet even though these are the platforms that need such a feature the most.

If you want to become a DMOZ editor, here's an excellent article on doing just that. Jim Boykin’s Internet Marketing Blog » Blog Archive » Psssst — GIVING away DMOZ Editor Accounts!
Be warned however that DMOZ is not all that it used to be cracked up to be. Having your site (and sites you love) listed here is not the golden spoon to success. On the other hand it's a great hobby and can "help to make the Internet a better place".
Even if you don't want to be a DMOZ editor, this is still good reading for anyone doing their own submissions to a directory.

The Internet makes it possible for anyone to publish a press release including the typical junk and weird items like "self surgery". But electronic press releases can be a boost to your business if done correctly. Here is an excellent article on how to do just that.

I don't like linking to About.com unless there is something truly useful; primarily because of the excessive ads and irritating popups, but this seems worth some annoyances. Here's a great list of places to research using public records. There are some links within these sites to paid resources, but an incredible number of free resources are available.

Yahoo! has finally dropped their $20 minimum per month. It's about time. Many small advertisers have used Google AdWords over Yahoo! just over this one issue. Google is smart knowing that $10 per month multiplies by thousands of advertisers equals a lot of money. With this being a product that has little human intervention, this makes it highly profitable revenue. Yahoo! is apparently finally waking up and perhaps may even someday drop their minimum bid per keyword. Hey, it could happen. More info at

The generousity of Google can be found on the internet at
Google.org. Yes, they are giving away millions to worthy organizations in both funds and time. There's not much at the site yet, but there's sure to be more in the weeks ahead.

Ok, it's just my opinion, but this is a totally silly concept to me.
del.icio.us is a web site where you can store your bookmarks and share them with others. Still, some people are going out here and having a field day listing their favorite sites. Apparently they've never heard of tools that already do this that have been around for years. Whatever floats your boat.
So why is this on an SEO blog? Quite simple. Have everyone you know create an account out here and link to you. Why not?

Google Reader is a web based news that also lets you email and blog from within it's interface. (Blog posts to Blogger only of course.) The reader is suppose to learn what type of content you like and prioritize results for you. More details at
Google Reader. Personally I don't like software thinking it is smarter than me. If I'm researching a topic that doesn't mean I'm interested in it for all time. (I hate this at Amazon as well. Buying books as one-time gifts doesn't mean I want to see related books for the rest of my life.) Only while I'm researching do I care. Hopefully there will be a way to clear what the reader has learned.
