Justice Department and the Google Subpoena
Published by Picturesque on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 9:07 AM.This article is definately one man's opinion instead of pure news, but it does show one side of the debate over the subpoena the Justice Department handed Google. The Justice Department is compeling Google to turn over search records for random searches. In my opinion this tramples citizen rights as the subpoena was not created for any specific investigation. There's no specific crime being looked into. It would be like allowing law enforcement agents to randomly visit your home and search the premises. Show me a crime and I say release the records related to that crime. This is not justice and Google should be applauded for taking the stand that they are.
