Yes, even Wikipedia is not imune from politicians calling each other doo-doo head and other junior high terms. It's government up to it's usual waste of time tricks trying to white wash their own entries and make others look bad. The Lowell Sun Online first broke the story regarding staff of U.S. Rep Marty Meehan "correcting" his biography. Unfortunately such correction removed valid information including his broken promise to only run for four terms. Wikipedia has responded including adding feedback forms so others can respond regarding the entries made. Check out the story at Lowell Sun Online.

According to JenSense.com, Google is testing rich media AdSense ads. These are the annoying ads that jump in your face and sometimes take up the whole page. Supposedly you are reading the ad while waiting for the real page to load. In reality, users will curse, swear and vow never to use Google again if this continues. Buy a new Dell computer and you'll discover something that isn't in any press releases from Google or Dell....at least none I can find. Dell computers now ship with Google Desktop search and this default home page....Dell Start Page. Once logged in and configured, you can search your Dell orders, get product reviews, support, and run PC tests.

It's about time Congress woke up. They are calling Google and others on the carpet to explain why they've agreed to cooperate with China in censoring the Internet. From a human rights point of view, it is a tragedy that they gave in so willingly. Of course we all know the reason they did it.....money. Such a highly populated country and all those online sales to be had. It is a moral dilema...large government telling Google how to run their business vs free speech? Oxy-mornonic? FirstGov.gov is a gigantic site with documents upon documents upon.... well, it is the government afterall and paperwork is the name of the game. FirstGov has announced that they have dramitically improved their search tools and have indexed a large amount of information previously not available through their search. In the stupid news category comes this article on Google's Adwords taking a downward spiral plunging Google into a dramatic loss of income, blah, blah, blah. I mention this article here just to punch a hole in one of too many doomsday articles from people who think they are the next prophet. In fact there are no facts to back up such a claim. Because of the way Google prices clicks, there is no way these guys, or anyone, can know what Google is charging per click for a certain phrase. Google charges a site more based on quality scoring. If a site has a history of breaking Google's rules, they have to pay more to obtain the top position. A site with good content, well written ads and that plays by the rules could pay substantially less per click for the same position. This and other factors make such an analysis impossible. Google has apparently been talking to Walmart and others to help them sell their cheap PCs running something other than Windows.
